This may have more to do with my personality than the reality of the candy cane, though. I'm not a big candy guy anymore, period. I like most candy in bar form, I like chocolate, peanut butter, and any combination thereof, but I won't eat Jolly Ranchers, jelly beans, Lifesavers, etc. I do make exception for gummy stuff. Anytime I eat any of those sorts of candies, I just feel my teeth rotting. Same with soda, though I do still drink it from time to time.
So is it me? Or are candy canes really just a tradition that everyone tolerates because of its association with Christmas?
I enjoy me a Candy Cane here and there. I like the strawberry flavored ones. And I like to put regular ones in my lattés, but then again you could but meatloaf in a latté and I would enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteFrankie...that's disgusting.
ReplyDeleteThe traditional peppermint candy canes are ok - I wouldn't go out of my way to get any. I do like the other flavors they have - there's this one fruity flavor - I don't know the name of it (unless its 'fruit flavor') that I've loved ever since I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteMan . . . now I'm jonesing for some cane . . .
Bleh. Candy Canes are the Neca wafers of the Christmas season. They're probably more mass-produced than any other candy, so there's more roach-per content than Snickers.
ReplyDeleteI like the mini candy canes. They're easier to unwrap and less sticky. I like peppermint candy though. I buy Pepomint Lifesavers and keep them in regular stock at our house.
ReplyDeleteI love candy canes! Only the original peppermint kind, though. All the other weird flavors are just wrong.
ReplyDeletecandy canes aren't as bad as clutch though..woo
