This is a gift for my friend Tawn Tawn (happy birthday, Tawn!) who turns 25 next week. She introduced me to a bizarre and wonderous show called Carnivale last year. Amy and I bought her the first season on DVD, and this drawing is intended to be a "It ain't here yet" note.
I found a picture online of Brother Justin standing behind Ben in a diner, and decided ot sketch it with a brush and ink. No pencils before-hand, just ink straight to bristol. Hence, there are a few drawing problems. I messed up a bit on Ben's face, so it doesn't really look like Nick Stahl. Brother Justin looks ok, though. You get "Clancy Brown" from it.

awesome pic. I heard it was decent show and I loved the print adds i might have to pick it up.
It's a very interesting show, Frankie. There are elements I think you would absolutely love. BUT it is an HBO show, so there is some stuff you won't like either. I watched the first season with Tawney and Elizabeth and there were plenty of "I've got something in my eye" moments.
note to self, thanx. It will be a watched by my self and some good old drawing time. I really like the print add's and the whole look of it.
If I was making a show called Carnivale, it would be a freaky gothic mix of David Lynch (freaky) and Tim Burton (gothic) imagery with deep red colors, supernatural undercurrents, copious amounts of xylophone music, and the occasional jack in the box.
Does HBO have any of these in their Carnivale?
And how! Yeah, you should check it out, Jon. It's got every you want but the xylophone.
