Fools

Play practice starts tonight. I'm going to go home and watch a movie with Russian accents (good Russian accents) to get myself "in character."

I'm really excited to learn how this process works. I've never been in a play before. Will I hate it by the end? Love it? Quit my job to do it full-time because I'm convinced I'll "make" "it" "big"? Probably not that last one.

The play is Fools by Neil Simon. I am (or, "play," in theater-speak) Count Gregor Yousekovitch.

Which movie are you going to watch for those authentic accents? Gary Oldman in Air Force One? ;)

Milla Jovovich in Zoolander.

Oh wait, she is Russian.

Or howabout Sean Connery as Capt. Marko Ramius?

...Excellent choices, but I decided to watch Rade Serbedjia in Snatch. I'm also considering Karl Roden as Rasputin in Hellboy, since he's, well, he's Czech, but he's playing a Russkie, right? So he's got AN accent.
